Product Description: Sildenafil is a generic medication commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). It works by increasing blood flow to certain parts of the body, helping men with ED to achieve and maintain an erection. It is available in tablet form and is typically taken orally.

Uses:

• Erectile Dysfunction (ED): Sildenafil is primarily used to treat ED in men, improving their ability to achieve and sustain an erection when sexually stimulated.
• Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH): Sildenafil is also prescribed to treat PAH, a condition that causes high blood pressure in the lungs, helping to relax and widen the blood vessels in the lungs to improve blood flow.

How It Works: Sildenafil works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which normally breaks down cyclic GMP (cGMP) in the body. Cyclic GMP helps relax the smooth muscles in the blood vessels, promoting increased blood flow. By blocking PDE5, sildenafil enhances the effects of cGMP, improving blood circulation in the penis and lungs (for PAH treatment).

Dosage and Administration:

• Erectile Dysfunction: The typical starting dose for erectile dysfunction is 50 mg, taken about 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Depending on efficacy and tolerance, the dose may be adjusted, with a maximum recommended dose of 100 mg. It should not be taken more than once a day.
